This is an awesome preamp -- great for any source, and a go-to for acoustic instruments, drums, and electric guitar. It's also amazing on the 2-bus using the 'line' switch to give your mixes some extra depth and analog goodness. The VP28 has 3 transformers and 2 discrete opamps, so you're getting a ton of analog mojo in a really small, affordable package. On top of that, you get the switchable high pass filters, which make this even better for both tracking and 2-buss duties. AND you get that lovely little LED signal indicator which is so useful when you're trying to track down issues in your signal chain.

Note, this includes the Litz wire output transformers, which is an upgrade over the stock model, and tends to have a more uniform frequency response and an overall bigger and deeper sound than the stock transformers. If you would prefer the stock transformer to match a previously built unit, let us know.
